Hello, my name is Dee.

I've always been passionate about hair. However, I hadn't manage to fulfill my dream of working in this field until recently. After 28 years of working in the NHS I decided to take early retirement to follow my dream.

My passion is to work with women who suffer from hair loss and help them to achieve a look that will put the smile back on their face.

I am a fully trained and qualified hair integration and extension specialist working from my home salon, ensuring the utmost privacy and discretion for my clients.

I live in East Kent and after doing some research, I'm aware that most sufferers of hair loss have to travel into London to obtain hair integration services. Therefore, I'm really pleased to be one of a few hair specialists in East Kent to be able to offer these services.

Women's Hair Loss & Causes

Alopecia Areata

Alopecia Areata is the loss of hair in patches from the scalp or body. Affecting one person in every 100, it is much more common than many people think. The hair-loss is caused by an auto-immune response where the hair follicles which produce hair are attacked by white cells. As a result, hair growth stops, causing the follicle to enter the resting phase of its cycle. The hair follicles usually remain capable of re-growing; however hair growth is pretty unpredictable.

Trichotillomania

Trichotillomania (TTM) is a serious condition that causes sufferers to have the urge to pull out their own hair. It is estimated that around 2% of the population suffer from Trichotillomania. The disorder has a negative impact on sufferers' well-being and their ability to function normally. It is normally developed as a result of women with TTM trying to deal with feelings of anxiety or anger

Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL)

Also known as Androgenetic Alopecia, occurring most commonly after the menopause. It is normal for the average person to shed hair on a daily basis. FPHL is a genetically linked condition that can be inherited from both sides of the family.

Post-menopausal women most commonly suffer with this condition. It is thought that Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia is caused by the immune system attacking the hair follicles, which causes inflammation.
